strength and balance

Strength and balance training can improve your body awareness and coordination. As we age, our balance tends to deteriorate. Daily activities such as walking up and down the stairs, reaching for items on a shelf or getting up from a seated position may pose a risk. Increasing your joint stability, reaction times and coordination through strength training helps to improve your balance and can reduce the risk of falls and injury.

FLEXIBILITY and posture

As people grow older, they tend to lose flexibility. The less active you are, the less flexible you are likely to be. However, with regular training you can improve your flexibility and strength. As you do, you may find you can sit or stand for longer, bending down or reaching up is easier and your posture is improved. Increasing your flexibility will allow for a greater range of motion and can help to prevent injuries.

INDEPENDENCE AND quality of life

Staying active can do more than just improve your physical fitness. By increasing your daily activities and continuing tasks you enjoy, you can maintain your independence. This may generate a sense of well being, boosting your self-esteem and mood. Quality of life is improved by keeping you active, independent and safe in your home.
